These hotplate mats are handmade in Uganda out of metal bottle caps wrapped in fabric. They can be used under pots, pans, hotplates from the microwave and casserole dishes. They come in two different shapes and made with multi-colored fabrics. Each Hot Plate Mat is a piece of art containing a very intricate sewing technique, is flat and can take up to several days to complete.
