Helping hands Uganda is a Canadian registered charitable organization that begun in 2006.

Our focus is in the areas of education, healthcare, food security and an income generating activity, to benefit not only the sponsored child, but also their siblings, caregivers/parents and in a few cases, their whole village benefited in some ways.

Our strong belief is that everyone deserves better and works to show children that they have not been forgotten.

Helping Hands Held it's first Concert.

Helping Hands Uganda held it’s first Virtual Fundraising Concert on December 18th, 2021 from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.
The Theme of the Concert was “What does Charity mean?”
The concert featured some children from Uganda and others from Canada exhibiting different talents that included cultural and modern dancing, solving Rubik’s cubes, singing and playing musical instruments.
There were also presentations from the founder of Helping Hands Uganda, Tracy Wanyama and the director of Helping Hands Uganda, Margie Wanyama.

Tracy Teckla Wanyama

Founder, Helping Hands Uganda

Born in Eastern Uganda, Tracy founded the charity in 2006 with a colleague Erin. She has led the charity since.

Margie Wanyama

Director, Helping Hands Uganda

Margie works with Compassion International in Uganda and has extensive experience working with underprivileged children

A Tribute

Our source of inspiration

The charity stands as a tribute to Tracy Teckla and Margie’s parents, Mr. Lawrence and
Mrs. Joan Mary Wanyama, who were charitable individuals but passed away early in life.
